Octavia - FInal single by frozenpyro71 Octavia - FInal single by frozenpyro71
Final painted version of my Octavia custom sculpt.

Really enjoyed this one even though it was a huge challenge, both in the sculpt and the painting.

She is made primarily from Milliput, with some Green Stuff and garden wire for the armature. Painted in acrylics.

She stands just a tiny bit under 6 inches to the top of the cello scroll.

Edit: Inspired by a conversation with That Awesome Brony Guy on fimfiction. He's the author of the awesome 'Hooves and Dials', I'm running as a prereader for him at the moment. Go give his fic a read, its pretty damn good! [link]

Hope you folks like
James

love it, but no eye lashes? I really think they'd help define the closed eyes, but excellent nonetheless!

Er, not sure I can give you any specific tips without seeing your work. There are a few thing i like to do when I sculpt:
Make the pose interesting, a sense of 'movement' brings the sculpt to life. This might just be a raised leg or twist in the body but it can be much more.

Have a look around at other sculptures when trying to get the proportions right, the proportions are key, if they are off the sculpt looks derpy.

Take your time and most importently, have fun.
